Connections
A direct sequence from Remains, Connections is a series of process based fiber works that explore the persistence of gender ideologies through the deconstruction of second-hand domestic materials with a physical connection between two or more forms. These points of connections explore the relational aspect of navigating home and takes into consideration that this phenomenon does not often occur in isolation but community: mother and child, siblings, friends and/or partners. Employing materials associated with the domestic sphere alongside actions that connect to care and labor such as washing and combing, cut strands of the fabric's weft and/or warp are extracted individually as an intimate, time demanding act of removal. The ends of the material are carefully persevered in the process to maintain strong bonds between itself.
