Things Received investigates objects and their meaning through active investigation of the memory and history of objects: heirloom and gifted. By using objects that I have received from friends and family, more of their history is known to me. In this way, I am able to pull from my personal relationship to the object and knowledge of its origin in addition to its metaphorical qualities of social convention to evoke its poetics through process based interventions.
