Things Received investigates objects and their meaning through active investigation of the memory and history of objects: heirloom, lived with, collected and gifted. By using objects that I have received, more of their history is known to me. In this way, I am able to pull from my personal relationship to the object and knowledge of its origin in addition to its metaphorical qualities of social convention to evoke its poetic qualities through process based interventions.
